When you bring a new kitchen into an old house, it’s important to make sure it feels cohesive with the existing structure of the space.

Our clients came to us looking for a complete change from their traditional style kitchen – seeking to add a contemporary touch to their barn conversion in Forton. Their biggest focus was to link the garden space to the kitchen and ensuring a natural and seamless flow between the two.

Materials and textures were crucial in this design which sought to marry the old and new beautifully. As the building is a traditional style barn conversion, the kitchen has been designed to have modern functionality and aesthetics that impress but stay sympathetic to the building’s characteristics.

The result is this statement kitchen which is the centrepiece to the clients living space. Providing effective and impressive integration into the open plan space, this family kitchen features tall integrated Siemens fridge and freezer and a workstation pantry fitted with electrical sockets for handheld or counter-top appliances and additional storage.

Set under chunky exposed beams and enjoying open access to the garden and countryside views via large bifold doors, the kitchen island is fully equipped with sink, Quooker boiling water tap, Siemens downdraft induction hob and ample prep room for cooking – making this space ideal for both entertaining and day-to-day living.
